Samsung has apparently revealed two potential Windows Phone 8 devices in the court documents submitted in their vs Apple trial this week.
The documents show a Samsung “Odyssey” and “Marco” Windows Phone 8 device, both marked as running on Qualcomm’s MSM8960 chipset which is a dual core 1.5GHz system-on-chip. Microsoft has been using the same processor to test Windows Phone 8 apparently, so this is interesting stuff.
The Samsung Odyssey is described as an “iconic smartphone” and features a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display at HD resolution with an 8 megapixel camera at the back, and NFC support. The Samsung Marco features a 4 inch S-AMOLED display at WVGA resolution and a 5 megapixel camera at the back.
Both devices might support LTE, and are scheduled to launch in Q4 2012. Looks like Samsung is taking WP8 really seriously then eh? Nokia might have some competition, from the manufacturer that stole many of crown from them.
