Afew days ago there were rumblings that Samsung may launch some more handsets to battle the likes of the soon to be announced flagship from Apple, the iPhone 5. When this news surfaced a few days ago, there was talk of Samsung launching a Galaxy S III mini as well as a Galaxy S II Plus. At the time there were a few details available on the Galaxy S III mini but the same cannot be said about the S II Plus. This seems to have changed as this device, sporting a codename Samsung GT-I9105, has recently surfaced on the GLBenchmark.
From the leaked benchmark we can see what specifications this device will feature once it becomes available. From the GLBenchmark we can see that the device will feature a display that is equipped with a resolution of 960 x 540. However, as of now, there is no information available on the dimensions of this yet announced handset. The other bits of information revealed are that it will be powered by a 1.4GHz CPU and the exact frequency that has been shown in the benchmark is listed at 1456MHz. The GPU that will come loaded in the Galaxy S II Plus will be a PowerVR SGX 544MP and this information can be viewed under GL Environment tab of the benchmark.

A variant of the Galaxy S II may be released soon
As for the operating system loaded in the device, if one was hoping for the latest version of Android, then the benchmark indicates something else as the operating system listed here is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and not Jelly Bean. However, this could change when Samsung is ready to release the handset and they may launch it with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board. As of now, there is not much else to go on in terms of specs for this device but once it launches, the price of this handset is expected to be around Euro 400.
For a couple of years now; rumours have floated around claiming that Apple would introduce a miniature version of their flagship iPhone. This handset had been referred to as the iPhone mini or the iPhone nano. Somehow, the idea of this handset did not come to fruition. We still see an iPhone featuring a display size of 3.5-inches. Since Apple has not yet done it, the brand’s biggest competitor, Samsung may be preparing a smaller-sized version of the Galaxy S III, which will be known as the Galaxy S III mini.
According to a report by Sammobile, the author stated that they heard a rumor that Samsung will release the Galaxy S III mini by the end of the year. The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will try to fight the Apple iPhone 4S with a 5 megapixel camera, dual-core processor and 4.0-inch Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution. The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is expected to cost around 250 euro compared to the iPhone 5 that costs around 650 euro with the latter featuring the same screen size.
