LG could base next Google 'Nexus' device on Optimus G

LG had announced its next flagship phone last month. Rumours indicate that the phone, named the LG Optimus G, could be what the next Google ‘Nexus’ phone is based on. According to AndroidCommunity, LG would be working on the next Nexus phone and use the Optimus G as the base.

Google usually announces a new Nexus phone by the end of the year, and according to AndroidCommunity’s sources, this year will be no different. According to the sources, Google is working closely with LG to work on the next Optimus G. If LG does end up making a Nexus device using the Optimus G as the base, the new Nexus device will probably come shipped with Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, as opposed to the Optimus G, which is slated to run Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box.
