Borderlands 2 may get a live action video....

Gearbox has been doing some weird stuff for its upcoming role playing shooter (RPS), Borderlands 2. Just last month, the company had put up a 16-bit version of Borderlands 2 which featured you playing one of the four available classes and killing enemies wave after wave in a top-down view, complete with Borderlands styled randomised loot. Now, the president of Gearbox has tweeted a picture that hints to the possibility of a live action video involving Borderlands 2 somehow.

The picture shows a muddy shot of  people, all dressed as characters of Borderlands 2 – the Gunzerker, the Siren, the Commando and the Assassin. The Gunzerker, named Salvador, is a brute force master of mayhem that has the ability to enter a berserk rampage armed with a two-handed gun in each hand. The Siren, named Maya, is a woman with the ability to Phaselock her enemies and control the flow of battle. The Commando, named Axton, is a general combat proficient character with the ability to deploy an automated turret. The Assassin, named Zer0, is a mysterious individual equipped for deadly precision attacks and has the ability to deploy a decoy and fade from sight. The picture hints to either a live action launch trailer for the game, or maybe some easter egg in the game you’ll find after doing something extremely difficult.
Those Borderlands 2 characters sure look realistic...

Last month, Gearbox had released a 16-bit version of Borderlands 2. The game can be found on wubwub.eu, one of the best URLs ever in my opinion. The flash game allows you to pick a class out of the four that will be available in the full game. The 16-bit recreation is a top-down shooter with monsters spawning at the sides. The main aim of the game seems to be just to survive for as long as possible. The game rewards you with a chest with two weapons and you have to pick one. There seems to be quite a bit of variety of different weapons you can get, including a regular pistol, a machine gun and a flamethrower among others. The game also has 16-bit recreations of the enemies that you will face in the game, including the regular bandits and their dogs.

Recently, Gearbox had announced the release date for the Mechromancer DLC(downloadable content) class for those who haven’t pre-ordered the game. The DLC is going to be released on October 16 with a price of 800 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360 version, and $10 for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions. These costs roughly convert to Rs. 550. The company had also released a trailer for the game that introduced many things that will be new in the Borderlands universe. The trailer shows many details about the game, such as the name of the Big Bad of the game – Handsome Jack. The trailer also likes to point out how much of a badass you are and how you can get more badass by levelling up your character, getting new and interesting weapons out of the 87 bazillion that the game has and how you can get attain new levels of badassery by getting things such as relics and class mods, which change how certain skills of your character works and makes them more awesome.

Borderlands 2 will be released for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC on September 18, 2012. The Mechromancer DLC will be released on October 16, 2012.
