The Galaxy S III smartphone has been one of Samsung’s most ambitious offerings till date, and at the time of its launch, the phone was one of the most anticipated smartphones. In a detailed review of the Galaxy S III, we found that it to be blazing quick in every single aspect. Manoeuvring through the various menus, home screens as well as multitasking is an absolute breeze. Beneath the glossiness that Samsung has given it, lies a stark and glum feel that could definitely do with better colour schemes.

The Galaxy S III is equipped with some of the latest mobile technologies. With a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 1GB RAM, Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), flaunting the latest edition of Samsung TouchWiz UI, and NFC support, the device is quite feature packed. Its 2,100mAh battery provides users with good battery life as well.

Here’s a closer look at some of the other specs of the Samsung Galaxy S III:

The S III’s direct competitors were of course, Apple’s iPhone and HTC’s One X.  The newly unveiled iPhone 5 was going to be the most ambitious iPhone, but it has clearly not seen the same enthusiasm as comes to expect out of iPhone unveilings. The iPhone 5 is inferior to the Galaxy S III in a number of ways. Among the niggling miss-outs on the iPhone 5 has been the NFC technology, which the S III includes. It’s also highly unlikely that the iPhone 5 uses a quad-core processor.

Another of the obvious concerns is the price tag. Apple products are known for their steep price tags. Upon its arrival in India, the iPhone 5 will get an even higher price tag. The iPhone 5, whenever it is launched in India can be expected to carry a price tag exceeding Rs 40,000.  The phone is expected to be sold as an unlocked unit for roughly $649. When the product is launched in India, the price is likely to increase by quite a bit. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5 is priced at approximately Rs 11,035 ($199), Rs 16,581 ($299) and Rs 22,118 ($399) respectively in the US on two-year contracts.
