Well this is interesting. According to a new ruling in South Korea’s Seoul District Court today, Apple and Samsung were both found guilty of infringing each other’s patents.
Apple will now be barred from selling it’s infringing products in South Korea, which include the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, along with the first two generation iPads, and will have to pay Samsung about $35,000, which is an oddly small sum, all things considering heh.
Samsung on the other end will have to stop selling the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 and pay Apple $22,000 for infringing their “bounce back” menu patent. On the other hand the court ruled that Samsung did not infringe on Apple’s Slide-to-unlock patent and packaging design, so it’s still good news for the South Korean company.
Eh, another day, another bit of Apple vs Samsung drama folks.
