Nokia, among 21 other companies have announced an In-Location Alliance today that aims to work together, to increase adoption of in-door location based positioning services and improve technologies around it.
The other members include Sony Mobile, Samsung, Nokia, and Qualcomm, and will work on solutions based on low energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology and Wi-Fi standards. They’re hoping to work on power consumption and accuracy, so yay.
Things will only get implemented in 2013 though, so there’s a bit of a wait. Competition for Google Map’s indoor positioning services, eh? More info over at the Nokia Conversations blog post at the link below or in the press release below.
