Microsoft has finally confirmed the release date of their Surface tablet, and it’s October 26th, which is also the same day Windows 8 releases.
This means there’s still another three months before we see it though:
“The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”The 10.6-inch display tablet runs Windows RT, a tablet-version of Windows 8 with Metro-styled app. No word on where exactly this thing will be released on said date, but I’m guessing the US and UK? The Intel-powered more-expensive Surface pro will come along about 90 days later apparently. Still no word on an actual price, either.
Hopefully we’ll see it over at this side of the planet too.
